Kentico Cloud allows power users to perform the most common actions without lifting their hands off the keyboard.

Note: On a Mac, use instead of Ctrl.

Rich text editor shortcuts

When composing content in the rich text editor, you can use the following shortcuts:

  • Ctrl + Z – Undo
  • Ctrl + Y – Redo (⌘ + Shift + Z on a Mac)
  • Ctrl + C – Copy
  • Ctrl + X – Cut
  • Ctrl + V – Paste
  • Ctrl + Shift + V – Paste text without formatting
  • Shift + Enter – Line break
  • Ctrl + B – Bold text
  • Ctrl + I – Italicize text
  • Ctrl + K – Insert/Remove link
  • Tab – Indent nested list
  • Shift + Tab – Unindent nested list

Editing items and content types

When editing content items or content types, you can use the following shortcuts:

  • Tab – Select element below
  • Shift + Tab – Select element above
  • Enter – Start editing Rich text element
  • Esc – Stop editing Rich text element

Editing comments

When editing comments, you can use: 

  • Ctrl + Enter – Post comment
  • Esc – Discard comment

Sidebars, Bar items, Drop-downs

  • Enter – Confirm
  • Escape – Cancel

Modal windows

When inserting assets or inserting content items, you can use: 

  • Enter – Confirm selection
  • Esc – Cancel
  • Double-click – Insert asset or item

Navigating between sections

Use Alt + [number] to quickly access the main sections of Kentico Cloud. These shortcuts are created dynamically for those sections you have access to based on your role. For example:

  • Alt + 1 – Navigate to Quickstart
  • Alt + 2 – Navigate to Content & Assets
  • Alt + 3 – Navigate to Content models
  • Alt + 4 – Navigate to Project settings
